In occasion of World Meeting of Families in Rio de Janeiro, blessed Giovanni Paolo II announced in 1997 his dream of an International Centre for the Family in Nazareth
«A Pope's House will rise in Nazareth, a spiritual home for all the families in the world» - the national President of the Renewal in the Spirit Salvatore Martinez announced.
In occasion of World Meeting of Families in Rio de Janeiro, blessed Giovanni Paolo II announced in 1997 his dream of an International Centre for the Family in Nazareth.
In 2009 in Nazareth, Benedetto XVI blessed its first stone.
«Here in Milan – Martinez said – we can introduce the executive plan after long and difficult agreements with the local church, civil and political authorities. If the Providence assists us, we think that in a couple of years the Centre will be fully operating».
Two buildings are expected: one for families' accommodation and one for training and socialization activities with an International Observatory on the family, with particular regard to the Middle East and to the intercultural dialogue.
The International Centre for the Family will be directed by the Renewal in the Spirit.
