Your family give thanks to you: the official liturgical hymn of the Meeting
The song celebrates the family and the Holy Trinity and will be the soundtrack of the event
The VII World Meeting of Families has an official hymn. It's called Your family give thanks to you. The liturgical hymn was written and arranged by Don Claudio Burgio, Choirmaster of the Musical Chapel of the Duomo of Milan.
Recorded by the Choir Cara Beltà with the Orchestra of the Academy Musica Sacra, conducted by the Choirmaster Diego Montrone, the hymn will mark the days of the event, from the Theological Pastoral Congress until the Holy Mass on Sunday, June 3 which will be celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI. The hymn will be sung, with 4 melodic voices, by all the choirs participating in the "Day of Testimonies" and the Mass.
The lyrics of the hymn, edited and approved by the Cardinal Archbishop of Milan Angelo Scola and Cardinal Ennio Antonelli, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, celebrates the Trinity, on the occasion of the Day of the Holy Trinity, which is on the next June 3. The image of the Trinity is an expression of the family as a subject of communion and relationship between father and son.
